Hi, sharing to you a review from our 2 weeks ago roadtrip to Batangas to hunt some great beaches. In our road trip our final hault went to Matabungkay Beach Resort in which we ate our late lunch.
Their restaurant was nice with all the mixture of wood and modern design. The ambience was pretty busy there were guests in the lobby talking and on the other area near the restaurant was I supposed teachers learning music tunes as their summer studies, I guess.
We ordered 2 meals, one for my hubby and myself. My husband ordered Sizzling Blue Marlin and I ordered this Sizzling Seafood Bounty. The attendant not so suggestive but polite when answering questions. She give us a bottle of water in which I mistakenly thought a bottle of wine since I think it is a recycled bottle from an empty wine. Very clever and environment friendly. We also had a glass of mango shake.
Now, the place was not well ventilated. I dunno there are only few ceiling fans and it is hot. Although, the place is open but there was no air coming in that much. I hope they just added a few electric fans. Anyway, we got our ordered food not too long. My hubby's sizzling blue marlin was tasty yet the meat was a bit dry inside. My ordered meal the sizzling seafood bounty to my surprise was a bit disappointing. The seafood was chopped tiny that I could not recognize if it's still there. The only thing I consistently taste are the bell peppers and onions. The sauce nothing too special, I am a cook myself and it's like a del monte tomato sauce being mixed-up in the meal. For a meal worth P275.00 in one order, I can say it's not that worth it. Anyway, the mango shake was sweet and purely real ripe mangoes.
To sum it up, I may come back but maybe I'll order for another food. Also, I will be bring an extra folding fan with me to ease the heat if ever it will be summer. It seems their facilities is okay so I might try that also if there's another chance we could come back next year .
